Things heat up with an ice monster

SUNDAY! Nov 27th  at 5 pm ET/4pm CT, G2Factor proudly discusses Superman #3 written by George Perez with pencils by Nicola Scott.  The story is beginning to take on a strong form and the art is amazing.

Twenty pages of dynamic story with some progression on a few iconic themes we’ve come to know and love about Superman.  Perez gives us glimpses of Clark’s heart and concerns regarding the vulnerability of human life.   He’s becoming Metropolis’ champion.

These new villains and their purpose start to pull us into what may prove to be a great mystery.  Lots of action in this one.  And there’s something going on with Clark . . . it’s not just the reboot.

Perry White, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and the new Planet staff appear.  Plus  a few old school villains seem to have visited during the five year gap.

Join us on talkshoe in the live chatroom or listen to live streaming.  Downloads available on iTunes and talkshoe.

Hope to see you there.

Live chat and streaming available as well as downloads from iTunes and talkshoe.

Which would you rather look at?

After G2 Factor’s favorite episodes of Smallville Season 3 discussion, we expressed our concerns with the Grant Morrison/Rags Morales version of ACTION COMICS.   We’d really like to read a good foundational Superman story.   Is this the book to do that?

Our Smallville Season 3 talk covered PHOENIX, SLUMBER, PERRY and WHISPER.

For the entire Smallville Season 3 episode reviews & Action Comics comments, click here.  (4 hours)

Since our Action #3 discussion was cut short due to technical difficulties, we offer these general comments about the Action Comic series so far.  Click here. (45 mins)

My eyes! My eyes! (Clark just read Morrison's Action)

Saturday, November 12 @ 6pm ET, G2Factor will be discussing our favorite Smallville Season 3 episodes.  SLUMBER, PERRY, WHISPER and a To Be Announced.  (Somebody smack Holli)

Last week we had more technical difficulties so if you weren’t privy to Action #3  (unlike poor Clark up there) and our conversation then here’s a link.  We have to warn you, it’s truncated so the entire comic and our opinions of it were not recorded.  Click here.

Let’s just say Gene Ha’s art was that book’s saving grace.

So this Saturday, we’ll be talking about the “uncredited” appearance of the Time Trapper, Perry White’s visit to the Kent farm, Welling rockin the glasses for the first time, and  . . . some other stuff.  Sound interesting?

Sidenote:  We have contacted talkshoe & are trying to see if we can get all technical difficulties resolved.

In DCnU news, Morrison will be only writing 20 pages of story (still for $3.99) until issue 8 which is the last issue of this Action arc.  Backup stories by other writers and artists will be on Steel and the Kents.  No first meeting between Superman and Lois Lane was mentioned.  But then the guy can only say two words to her in a Morrison story.  Don’t want any hint of domesticity, now do we?

Superman #3 will be drawn by Nicola Scott.  We’re very excited about that.  Superman is still $2.99 with 26 pages of story (with trains of thought that don’t jump off the tracks for no reason) and will be coming out November 23rd.  Issue 2 made #10 in October sales.  This story is a 6 issue arc.

Superman will be appearing in Supergirl #3 which goes on sale November 16th.

Hope to see you in our live chat or you can listen to the live streaming.  Downloads are available on talkshoe and iTunes after the show.

SATURDAY, November 5th at 6pm ET, G2Factor will be discussing Action #3. As evidenced by the two covers, Superman will be dealing with the disenchanted citizenry of Metropolis as well as his not-so-humble beginnings on Krypton.

We are very excited about Gene Ha’s pencils for the interiors (and the variant cover on the right) of this issue. He will be taking care of the Krypton duties. Morales continues to crayon the Metropolis story.

We’re still wondering if Morrison will acknowledge Clark Kent (journalist) or Lois Lane in this issue.

Last week we had some technical difficulties but you can now download our Superman #2 show on talkshoe or iTunes.  Lots of energy tossed around in our enthusiasm for this book.  In one small picture, George Perez gave us Superman and Lois Lane possibly in their first meeting.  It was the moment that changed their lives and made us smile for the first time in the New 52.
